Function, function, function. If a particular investor cannot see the "beauty" in your app's value prop (which is all that matters), then they are likely a low-value add investor.

John

I am launching a web app soon and will be seeking investment soon after. Time is definitely a scarce resource for us because we are all students, and we are debating between making the web app have more functionality but look simple/bare, or having less functionality (but still a solid site) but prettier. The added functionality is by no means necessary, so we would like to focus on beautifying the web app to catch investors eyes. Do you think a very startup friendly investor (especially a tech savy one) would rather see +functionality or +beautification?

Thank you for all of the help.

Bernie,

Nice. I didn't realize how popular bells were at sales offices!

It is funny how we respond to such things, very Pavlovian. We are primates, after all.

Hi John,
I enjoyed this one because we rang a bell at my 3M sales office back in the day. This was my first real job after university and it inspired healthy competition and celebration of success.

Barry,

I love it! One of my only regrets from my days at Citrix is that I did not get 'dibs' on The Bell. I would love to have it as a motivator for one of the startups in Rincon's portfolio.

Take care

Hi John,
About 25 years ago, I bought a brass San Francisco cable car bell replica in San Francisco. It has followed me as the celebratory bell through 3 startups!
